Every bystander that saw you wishes that they could also have a girl like yours and they exclaimed ?She?s definitely hot on the road?? and then you smile and said ?Wish on brothers?this girl is mine??

Have you ever wondered why most men refer to their bikes as a she or their girl? In order to satisfy my curiosity I asked some of the boys in the neighborhood with bikes why they have to refer to their bikes as their girl. And these are some of their explanations:

Boy 1: I call my bike my girl because it?s beautiful and shapely like you girls. ? I don?t know about this but if I?m compared to a bike I definitely would not want to be compared with those bulky big bikes. Just think of what that implies.

Boy 2: My bike is my girl friend because she?s hot?! ? Again, I don?t know what to think of this comparison but it must be because exhaust of motorcycles are hot when you get in contact with it or it may pertain probably to the look of the bike. Well, it?s their opinion in the first place.

Boy 3: I refer to my motorcycle my girl because I fell in love with it the first time I laid eyes on it. The same feeling I get when I?m in love. ? This is probably the one answer that makes me wonder, comparing the love for a motorcycle to the love for a ?real? girl. I mean come on.

Boy 4: Motorcycles are like ladies because you have to care for them and not just any care but you simply have to buy them so many accessories just to look good and if that is not girly stuffs then I don?t know. - This one answer is probably the closest thing to the explanation I am searching for funny but definitely TRUE.

Boy 5: Motorcycles are not the only things that men refer to as their girl but also cars. There are some names of car parts that signify women. Take for example the skirt. I guess men just love women. - Very true I have never met any straight man who is not a lover of women.

After the interview as I go over the answer of the guys I interviewed I came to a conclusion that women are seen in almost everything that men came in contact with. It might be because they deem women as important to them or probably they see women as a part of them that they just can?t leave without or I might be wrong?

Pitfalls of Casual Friday

Imagine this: You walk into a prominent, international business office, up to the receptionist's desk - and you see she's wearing flip-flops and blue jeans with holes in them. How do you react to this? I bet your opinion of that business just dropped quite a few notches, right?

Do you think this is an extreme example of some people's taking Casual Friday too far? Do you think it would never happen in your office?

My husband didn't think so - until it did happen in the office of his place of employment, an international, very prosperous company.

He's told me several stories of the inappropriate attire the receptionist has worn to work on Casual Friday over the years such as the aforementioned flip-flops and ripped blue jeans. Also she's shown up wearing a feather boa, tight T-shirts, shorts (during the summer), and miniskirts, among other unacceptable items of clothing.

And it's not just his workplace. I've seen many other examples of this type of dress in other places of business. I admit I may be too old-fashioned, but it seems very wrong to me when I am much more better dressed than the receptionist working in the office I'm bringing my business to. I don't care if it is Casual Friday; if the receptionist looks like she just rolled out of bed and threw on whatever was laying on the floor, that business just lost a customer in me. Right or wrong, it is indisputable that how a person dresses will affect another person's opinion of that person, and in this case, the company also.

The receptionist is the first person one sees when entering a business office; she is the image of the business. It doesn't matter in the least what all the other company workers wear on Casual Friday. The receptionist, as the spokesperson for the company, should always be appropriately dressed and well-groomed.

I'm not saying she must always wear a matching jacket and skirt, but I do believe she should never wear anything more casual than what she'd wear to church. In other words, a non-revealing dress or slacks with a dress shirt.

And, please, don't forget the pantyhose, and leave your sneakers in the closet.

Toile is a centuries old fabric that has once again become quite popular for use in gorgeous, lushly detailed bedding. (pronounced twaal)

Delicate drawings, very Old World in nature, often define the fabric.

Some conflicting opinions exist about the origin of toile. Some say it was originally created in Ireland in the 1700s. Other sources believe it originated in Toile de Jouy France.

Because of a new technique of engraved plate printing, the look became wildly popular.

Today, it most often describes a fine line printed fabric design that looks very much like a pen and ink work. The most elegant toile fabrics are still printed using engraved plates or rollers.

The majority of bedding created from toile today is based on country themes.

Your trampoline can be an expensive item, so it's important to properly care for it. Here's some useful tips :

Don't Let Kids sit/stand or play with the frame pads. The pad is a preventive in case the kids land too close to the frame.
Don't use chemicals to clean your frame pads.
Don't tie your pads too tight. In case of strong winds, it can pull up the pads and therefore pull out the straps if tied too tightly.
If you have an enclosure, lift up the skirt where the poles are or cut out of the skirt area at the pole. If the pole lies against the skirt, there will be too much strain on the pads and can cause the skirt seams to rip.
Keep all animals away from the trampoline. There's something about dogs and pads and are very appealing to dogs!

How can trampolining be safer?

If your child already uses a trampoline, you should follow these safety measures.

Location of the trampoline and safety features:

Clear the area around the trampoline of objects and do not set the trampoline near trees, fences, poles, or other playground equipment.

Set the trampoline where an energy-absorbing surface (for example, tall grass) surrounds it. Buy and use a frame pad that covers the entire area of the spring system. If possible, lower the height to ground level by putting the trampoline in a pit.

Before using the trampoline:

Set rules for trampoline use and discuss them often with your children. Tell your children about the risks of not using the tramp properly. Have your children remove any necklaces.

Using the trampoline:

Have someone properly train your child how to do flips and other complex stunts. Never allow more than one person to use the trampoline at the same time. Do not allow bouncing followed by jumping off of the trampoline. Have an adequate number of spotters around the edges of the trampoline.

How to Remove Stitches

Removing one or two stitches in a garment is not a difficult chore, but getting whole seams out so that you can take a blouse apart to use for a pattern, or to alter the length/width of a skirt can be more challenging.

A lot depends on whether the stitches you want to remove were sewn by hand, or machine. Machine sewing tends to lay down a very close line of stitches than can run along the seam and overcast it as well.

The most common tool used to remove stitches is a seam ripper. This is a little device that has a curved, sharpened blade at one end, and set into a handle with a secure grip, so that you have total control over where and how you cut things. In a basic seam, it is possible to slip the tip under the stitches, and literally rip the entire seam out by just moving the device forward.

But as mentioned, if it was done by machine, you may have a second seam to deal with. Some people having removed the overcastting, will then turn the material over, and put enough stress on both sides to pull the fabric gently and expose the stitches that are still there. If you have sufficient room to work with, you can then use the ripper to slice them one at a time.

Once you have cut all the stitches in a seam, a pair of tweezers comes in handy for clean-ups, particularly with fine threads.
