She?s Hot in the Road? by: Maricon WilliamsEvery bystander that saw you wishes that they could also have a girl like yours and they exclaimed ?She?s definitely hot on the road?? and then you smile and said ?Wish on brothers?this girl is mine??Have you ever wondered why most men refer to their bikes as a she or their girl? In order to satisfy my curiosity I asked some of the boys in the neighborhood with bikes why they have to refer to their bikes as their girl. And these are some of their explanations:Boy 1: I call my bike my girl because it?s beautiful and shapely like you girls. ? I don?t know about this but if I?m compared to a bike I definitely would not want to be compared with those bulky big bikes. Just think of what that implies.Boy 2: My bike is my girl friend because she?s hot?! ? Again, I don?t know what to think of this comparison but it must be because exhaust of motorcycles are hot when you get in contact with it or it may pertain probably to the look of the bike. Well, it?s their opinion in the first place.Boy 3: I refer to my motorcycle my girl because I fell in love with it the first time I laid eyes on it. The same feeling I get when I?m in love. ? This is probably the one answer that makes me wonder, comparing the love for a motorcycle to the love for a ?real? girl. I mean come on.Boy 4: Motorcycles are like ladies because you have to care for them and not just any care but you simply have to buy them so many accessories just to look good and if that is not girly stuffs then I don?t know. - This one answer is probably the closest thing to the explanation I am searching for funny but definitely TRUE.Boy 5: Motorcycles are not the only things that men refer to as their girl but also cars. There are some names of car parts that signify women. Take for example the skirt. I guess men just love women. - Very true I have never met any straight man who is not a lover of women. After the interview as I go over the answer of the guys I interviewed I came to a conclusion that women are seen in almost everything that men came in contact with. It might be because they deem women as important to them or probably they see women as a part of them that they just can?t leave without or I might be wrong?About The AuthorMaricon WilliamsPlease visit Yamaha Motorcycle Parts site at http://www.yamahamotorcyclepartsonline.com/ for comments and inquiries regarding this article.

Pitfalls of Casual Friday by: Mary ArnoldImagine this: You walk into a prominent, international business office, up to the receptionist's desk - and you see she's wearing flip-flops and blue jeans with holes in them. How do you react to this? I bet your opinion of that business just dropped quite a few notches, right?Do you think this is an extreme example of some people's taking Casual Friday too far? Do you think it would never happen in your office? My husband didn't think so - until it did happen in the office of his place of employment, an international, very prosperous company. He's told me several stories of the inappropriate attire the receptionist has worn to work on Casual Friday over the years such as the aforementioned flip-flops and ripped blue jeans. Also she's shown up wearing a feather boa, tight T-shirts, shorts (during the summer), and miniskirts, among other unacceptable items of clothing. And it's not just his workplace. I've seen many other examples of this type of dress in other places of business. I admit I may be too old-fashioned, but it seems very wrong to me when I am much more better dressed than the receptionist working in the office I'm bringing my business to. I don't care if it is Casual Friday; if the receptionist looks like she just rolled out of bed and threw on whatever was laying on the floor, that business just lost a customer in me. Right or wrong, it is indisputable that how a person dresses will affect another person's opinion of that person, and in this case, the company also. The receptionist is the first person one sees when entering a business office; she is the image of the business. It doesn't matter in the least what all the other company workers wear on Casual Friday. The receptionist, as the spokesperson for the company, should always be appropriately dressed and well-groomed.I'm not saying she must always wear a matching jacket and skirt, but I do believe she should never wear anything more casual than what she'd wear to church. In other words, a non-revealing dress or slacks with a dress shirt. And, please, don't forget the pantyhose, and leave your sneakers in the closet.About The AuthorMary Arnold holds a B.A. in literature and history.
Toile bedding by: Patricia BowlinToile is a centuries old fabric that has once again become quite popular for use in gorgeous, lushly detailed bedding. (pronounced twaal)Delicate drawings, very Old World in nature, often define the fabric. Some conflicting opinions exist about the origin of toile. Some say it was originally created in Ireland in the 1700s. Other sources believe it originated in Toile de Jouy France. Because of a new technique of engraved plate printing, the look became wildly popular. Today, it most often describes a fine line printed fabric design that looks very much like a pen and ink work. The most elegant toile fabrics are still printed using engraved plates or rollers. The majority of bedding created from toile today is based on country themes. For example, Waverly's toile comforter of 100% cotton depicts a scene that appears Colonial or Old World in nature, with men, a woman riding a donkey and greenery. The bedding is trimmed in a tiny gingham check of 100% cotton toile. This particular bedding selection of toile comes in blue and cream or black and cream. The comforter is bound on three side and reverses to a gingham check for a change when you want something different.C&J Enterprises offers a gorgeous toile set for your bedroom. Called simply "Midnight", this bedding features deep blue nearly-black and soft white to create a bedding set that has a French feel. The graceful floral provides a country feeling. The soft rows of quilting make this quilt feel so cozy and inviting. The quilted pillow shams, pillows, and throws complete this lovely bedding set of toile. Choose some accessories in the gingham checked pattern to add a whimsical touch to the bedding. Sferra Brothers provides a beautiful toile set for your bedding collection. The crimson or dusky green toile pattern is printed on Celeste 406 thread count percale sheeting with hand drawn hems. The quilted coverlet is reversible with one side having a light background with dark toile print; the reverse side is dark background hosting a light print. Pillows shams are available with either light or dark background and look wonderful with two of each. You'll love this bedding set of toile for your bedroom.Kouchini has designed a traditional toile set in the French Country style. The bedding set contains a comforter, bed skirt and shams. Matching sheets, pillow cases and throw pillow are available. The comforter is created in the European style which does not have center quilting and is a bit thinner than other styles of comforter. The charcoal grey is beautiful against the soft cream background. For a little pizzazz, mix the traditional toile print sheets with solid colors or plaids to showcase the fine country prints of the toile. This bedding set will give your bedroom a cozy, inviting ambiance.Designer Vera Bradley has created a new toile set that provides that look of fine old linen in a bedding set that truly looks antique. The pastoral countryside depicted in this toile of 100% cotton. The three color choices coordinate with Vera Bradley's other designs like Seaside Vermicelli and Signature Paisley designs. This bedding would definitely become on of your toile favorites. Toile water chestnut, summer rose and blue willow are all gorgeous choices for your bedding sets.Baby nurseries look so serene and peaceful done in delicate toile. What do you mean you've never thought of using toile for baby bedding? =) Baby bedding made of small toile prints look just right whether for baby girl or baby boy. Choose from pink, blue or sage when you choose a Burlington Basket bassinet liner set. Made of a cotton polyester blend, the delicate country prints on while backgrounds make these beautiful baby bedding sets of toile. These sets include sheet, skirt and bassinet hood cover. If you love the tradition country look of top-quality toile, you'll want to care for yours properly. Most sheets, pillow cases, bed skirts and shams are machine washable. Some comforters are labeled machine washable, but comforters are simply too heavy when wet to be washed in most home laundry machines. For only a bit more expense, and actually much less expense than a washing machine repair, you can have the heavier bedding in your toile collection laundered in a commercial laundry or dry cleaned. This way you'll enjoy the charm and casual elegance of this wonderfully unique bedding for along time to come!About The AuthorPatricia Bowlin makes it easy to create a bedroom with flair!
You Can Custom Fit Your Vehicle by: Matthew C. KeeganPart of the fun of owning a car is giving it your own look. Sure, some cars come fully equipped with all the bells and whistles, but they lack one thing: your personal touch. Starting back in the 1950s when customizing cars really took off, enthusiasts have been modifying their cars to suit their own purposes. Let?s take a look at some ways you can make your car a real stand out.Under the Hood: The most obvious customizing for your engine compartment is a cold air intake, designed to increase power to the engine. A cold air intake changes the appearance of your car?s engine bay with custom colors such as rad red, silver, chrome, powder coated blue, and more.On the Hood: Hood protectors, also known as car bras, will give your car a bold, aggressive, and cool look. Other ideas include installing hood scoops and vents. Up Front: Fender flares, bumper protectors, front fascia, and head light covers are all the rage. Add in custom fitted fog lights and you have a real show stopper on your hands. To the Sides: Paintable rear side window covers will distinguish your model from all cars out there. Paintable side skirts are another crowd pleaser.Bringing up the Rear: Altezza style tail light lens assemblies, which are available in chrome or paintable black. Some motorists are opting for paintable or blacked out tail light covers too for that special look. Adding a spoiler or a rear skirt are two additional awesome looking accessories for any car.Under it All: Performance exhaust systems are all the rage. They are expensive but worth it in many driver?s eyes. Increased performance, a better look, and a million mile warranty are some of the appeals of this mod. On the Inside: Who said floor mats or floor liners have to be boring? Custom fitted Highland floor mats or Husky cargo liners give your interior a clean, sharp look and protect expensive carpeting and flooring. Seat covers, shifter knobs, and gauge covers are all popular add-ons with owners today. To the Wheels: Some cars are now custom fitted with wheel spacers which permit wheel stance to be widened, thereby improving handling. Wheel dust shields are also popular to help keep alloys and tires clean. So, there you have it. Manufacturers of custom fitting accessories have been burning the midnight oil to bring to you products that can truly change the appearance of your car. Indeed, some models -- including the Honda Civic -- have over 200 custom designed accessories available. The more popular the car, the more likely your choices will be greater.About The AuthorMatt Keegan is a contributing writer for PitStopParts: [http://www.pitstopautoparts.com], a wholesaler of discount auto accessories including Highland floor mats: [http://www.pitstopautoparts.com/1-highland-floor-mats.html] and Husky cargo liners: [http://www.pitstopautoparts.com/1-husky-cargo-liner.html]

Microfiber Bedding- A New Favorite by: Patricia BowlinMicrofiber is used in so many ways that we hear the word often when speaking of bedding, apparel, fabrics and furniture.Microfiber bedding is a newer fabric and is very, very popular these days- but have you every wondered what this microfiber truly is? To the layman who doesn't want a bunch of technical data, the fiber is microscopically thin..1/100th the diameter of a human hair. Microfiber bedding, as a result is wonderfully soft to the touch.Products made from microfibers like nylon and polyester are created with fibers that are also strong and extremely thin. These fibers are even thinner than the most luxurious than natural fibers, such as silk. And get this- microfiber can even be made to feel like suede, cotton or silk! How cool is that?Fabric created from microfiber that is then used to create your bedding means that you will have products that are lighter, more comfortable, long lasting, breathable and even easier to clean. And it doesn't come with a high pricetag either.Products created from these fibers are also great for allergy sufferers. Dust mites can live in such places as comforters, pillows and mattresses, microfiber can be woven into dense covers that do not allow the dust mites to escape and bother the allergy sufferer. Microfiber is an invention that has made a big difference in the lives of those with allergies. Zip on pillow covers, quality mattress pads, duvets to cover comforters and even comforters made with microfiber exteriors have reduced the problems for those allergic to dust mites significantly. But these products are not just for those with allergies. Let's look at some of the great bedding you can find made from microfiber:The Bolder Peak Comforter by Columbia is a great example of the use of microfiber to create practical bedding at low prices. This reversible comforter has an exterior shell made of 250 thread count microfiber and 100% polyester filling. The comforter is labeled machine washable. Color combinations are navy/camel, black/blue and Berry/China Berry. Practical as bedding choices for dorm rooms, guest rooms, master bedrooms and every bedroom in your house, you'll love the prices you'll find on these microfiber comforters by Columbia.Dockers doesn't just make clothing anymore. The famous Dockers label can now be found on bedding- including a reversible comforter set that comes with matching bed skirt and shams. The microfiber polyester outer shell holds 100% polyester filling to create a lightweight but cozy comforter. Stain Defender technology means that spills and stains will be few and easy to remove because they will not bond with the fabric. Amethyst, black, navy and other colors are combined to provide lots of color choices in the reversible comforter. The pillow shams and bed skirt match one side of the comforter and coordinate with the other side. This microfiber choice is a great way to stretch your bedding dollar.Microsuede and microfiber combine to create a great comforter from the J.C. Penny line of bedding. One side of the reversible comforter is microfiber polyester, the other side is polyester microsuede, providing variation in textures. The hypoallergenic 100% polyester filling makes this machine washable comforter a great choice. Available with matching cotton/polyester blend pillow shams. Colors are black/tarragon, navy/wedgewood and thyme/tarragon. If you want a comforter that feels like real down, you'll want to know about Camden's Reversible Down-Like Comforter. This bedding is filled with microgel, a down-like product that is allergy resistant and has that luxurious down feel. The outer shell is polyester microfiber and ten reversible color combinations are available. If you love down but don't love the weight of down, you'll love this down-like microgel filling inside the lightweight microfiber shell. If you prefer blankets to comforters, Biederlack has created the Aurora Microfiber Bed Blanket that is light weight yet warm and cozy. The soft feel of the microfiber makes this bedding choice perfect in any and every one of the nine beautiful colors available. All common sizes are also available. You'll want to add several to your bedding collection because they are reasonably priced yet high quality and fully machine washable.Remember to read and follow the care labels on your bedding created from microfiber. Most microfiber should not be left in a hot dryer for prolonged periods of time. The material dries quickly because of the tiny fibers in the bedding.Microfiber- A new favorite in the world of bedding. About The AuthorPatricia Bowlin makes it easy to create a bedroom with flair!
Wedding Dresses ? Getting the Best for your Budget by: Elsie GilbertWeddings are a very expensive business and costs can quickly spiral out of control. Most brides want to ensure that they look their best, so it is little wonder that wedding dresses are the one area that seems reliably to run over budget in almost any wedding arrangement. But, you don?t need to spend a fortune in order to look stunning and to generate admiring glances from all around. Wedding dresses are a matter of very personal choice and it is often the case that imagination can be a much greater asset than pure cash! Wedding Dresses - Clever (and cheap) Ideas Most weddings have an underlying theme and wedding dresses should be included within this theme. For example, if you are having a medieval theme, it is possible to choose a darker bodice or even an impressive hairpiece to accentuate an otherwise very plain dress. As a general rule, wedding dresses do not need to over elaborate. One, well-thought out accessory can be much more effective than a very large and excessive dress. A plain dress is often a lot cheaper and with a little thought, a classic, simple style can actually look more sophisticated. Many brides often change their wedding dresses, before the evening celebrations, as these formal style dresses tend to be cumbersome and heavy.Doesn?t this seem like a huge waste of money? Why not have two-piece wedding dresses that will allow you to change your skirt for a shorter, lighter version, whilst keeping the shaped bodice as well as any theme that you have developed? Wedding Dresses ? The Key to Accessorizing Depending on your body shape and the type of wedding you are creating, different wedding dresses will suit different accessories. For example, if you are considering the traditional tight bodice, tapered in at the waist and flowing freely over the legs, you may like to concentrate on accessorizing your middle with the use of a thin belt. As every bride wants to look her best, accessories should be used to accentuate your assets. By using key accessories, wedding dresses can remain rather plain and simple, meaning that they are not only cheaper, but may actually be usable for other occasions, in the future. A bride with a fuller waist but an impressive bust may wish to consider wedding dresses that simply skim the middle part of her body and cling to the bust and hip area. In these instances, it is worth drawing attention to your neckline with a large necklace or even a shawl. Take some time to shop around for those finishing touches; sometimes there is nothing better than a pure, single fresh flower, so don?t always assume that expensive is best. Think simple and think classic. Plain wedding dresses can be just as effective as the most sensational designer wedding dresses, if given the personal touch. Above all, your dress is guaranteed to be unique!About The AuthorElsie Gilbert offers great insights to all different types of wedding ceremonies, wedding styles, wedding accessories.
What's The Best Way To Care For Your Trampoline ? by: Jeb TaylorYour trampoline can be an expensive item, so it's important to properly care for it. Here's some useful tips : Don't Let Kids sit/stand or play with the frame pads. The pad is a preventive in case the kids land too close to the frame. Don't use chemicals to clean your frame pads. Don't tie your pads too tight. In case of strong winds, it can pull up the pads and therefore pull out the straps if tied too tightly. If you have an enclosure, lift up the skirt where the poles are or cut out of the skirt area at the pole. If the pole lies against the skirt, there will be too much strain on the pads and can cause the skirt seams to rip. Keep all animals away from the trampoline. There's something about dogs and pads and are very appealing to dogs! How can trampolining be safer? If your child already uses a trampoline, you should follow these safety measures. Location of the trampoline and safety features: Clear the area around the trampoline of objects and do not set the trampoline near trees, fences, poles, or other playground equipment. Set the trampoline where an energy-absorbing surface (for example, tall grass) surrounds it. Buy and use a frame pad that covers the entire area of the spring system. If possible, lower the height to ground level by putting the trampoline in a pit. Before using the trampoline: Set rules for trampoline use and discuss them often with your children. Tell your children about the risks of not using the tramp properly. Have your children remove any necklaces. Using the trampoline: Have someone properly train your child how to do flips and other complex stunts. Never allow more than one person to use the trampoline at the same time. Do not allow bouncing followed by jumping off of the trampoline. Have an adequate number of spotters around the edges of the trampoline. Follow these tips and you're trampoline will be great fun... and safe. Find out all you need to know about trampolines.
How to Remove Stitches by: Brenda H. MurphyRemoving one or two stitches in a garment is not a difficult chore, but getting whole seams out so that you can take a blouse apart to use for a pattern, or to alter the length/width of a skirt can be more challenging.A lot depends on whether the stitches you want to remove were sewn by hand, or machine. Machine sewing tends to lay down a very close line of stitches than can run along the seam and overcast it as well. The most common tool used to remove stitches is a seam ripper. This is a little device that has a curved, sharpened blade at one end, and set into a handle with a secure grip, so that you have total control over where and how you cut things. In a basic seam, it is possible to slip the tip under the stitches, and literally rip the entire seam out by just moving the device forward. But as mentioned, if it was done by machine, you may have a second seam to deal with. Some people having removed the overcastting, will then turn the material over, and put enough stress on both sides to pull the fabric gently and expose the stitches that are still there. If you have sufficient room to work with, you can then use the ripper to slice them one at a time.Once you have cut all the stitches in a seam, a pair of tweezers comes in handy for clean-ups, particularly with fine threads.About The AuthorBrenda H.
